Mark Sichel has been a practicing psychotherapist in New York City since 1980 and works with individuals, couples and families. He is also a Supervisor and Teacher of psychotherapists and is affiliated with the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health.

Mark's interest in Healing from Family Rifts began because of his own turbulent and painful history with his family of origin. In his therapy practice, he discovered he was seeing more and more people torn apart by family estrangement. He taught family and couples counseling to the Clergy and learned from his Priest, Pastor and Rabbi students that the problem cut across religious, racial, ethnic and class lines.

In 1999, in an effort to reach a larger audience, Mark created www.psybersquare.com, a self-help website that has helped people throughout the world. Psybersquare was awarded the WWW Health Award for excellence in patient education in the Fall of 2000. Mark has been a featured guest on television and radio throughout the world and his work has appeared on websites across the Internet.

Mark is a volunteer psychotherapist with the New York Disaster Counseling Coalition, founded September 12, 2001 to help New York police and fire officers who gave so valiantly in the rescue and recovery efforts of 9/11.

Mark lives in Manhattan with his wife Cindy Kasovitz Sichel and their four children, and is available for private consultation to families and individuals in his New York City office. He is also available for community lectures and seminars on topics related to family estrangement and fostering functional and successful family relationships.
